It's a New Year
Our new owners are working hard to sift through all the ideas and changes in front of us. We know that our customers love their tried and true merchandise, they expect to see it in the store, and it will still be there. We also have heard customers asking for some different things. Three of our managers recently attended TNNA and spent some time mingling with new vendors. They looked at merchandise and came home excited about the things to come.
Other changes can be seen in the shop. One of the first things we did this year was to close the store for 3 days and take inventory. We organized, sorted stock, and counted merchandise. There was lots of excited talk of the changes we want to make. One of the most obvious ones is to move the classroom up near the front of the shop where there is a little more room and some lovely natural light.
We've made Vogue Magazine!
Some of our owners are working hard to get Lofty Lou's Yarn Shop to be more recognized. We were excited to see that Vogue Magazine published a photo our
store to show the display of Marble Chunky Yarn. National Marketing Manager, Josie Dolan chose Weekend Jacket by Sandi Prosser as her favorite cardigan of 2014. This design used the Marble Chunky. So come on in, get some Marble Chunky and knit up this flattering cardigan.
Distinctive and dashing and very easy. The main body of this coat is worked from side to side, which of course enables the yarn’s variegations to run vertically up your body and lengthen it (as well as your legs-- wear boots!). The armholes are just notches, and the stitch pattern doesn’t get more complicated than combinations of garter stitch and knit/purl. And yet it has a rich tapestry effect that’s intensely pleasing. No size takes more than 5 balls of this democratically-priced yarn. This design originally appeared in Knit ‘N Style magazine. SKILL LEVEL: Easy
